NBV Community Bank Park Dedicates New Section for Children with Disabilities

Lisa Pollack of North Belle Vernon knows all too well what a visit to a public playground means to a child with a disability.
“I have two sons with special needs and know what it’s like for other parents,” said Pollack. “One day, I started thinking, ‘What goes through the mind of a kid in a wheelchair or a child with a muscular problem? What are they doing while their siblings are having a good time?’ The sad truth is that they just stare and feel isolated. It’s not fair for those children.”
