Client Profile

Florida school district dedicated to servicing students with hearing/vision impairments

State run school increases School District Administrative Claiming reimbursements by participating in its own universe.

Overview

For several years our client participated in an SDAC consortium with many other school districts in the state. However, because our client is a specialized school that only services students with severe disabilities, their time study participants were engaged in “claimable activities” at a much higher rate than the other school districts in the consortium during the time of their random moments.  Unfortunately, the time study claimable percentage did not reflect that level of claimable activities because the other school districts performed claimable activities at a much lower rate, therefore diluting the results.

Solution

After a comprehensive analysis of our client’s time study results – and its SDAC cost pool – Accelify recommended that the client leave the SDAC consortium and establish its own time study universe to conduct an independent time study. To accomplish this, our client contracted with Accelify to manage and administer the time study using Accelify’s AcceliTIME electronic RMTS system.

Results

When our client participated in the SDAC consortium they averaged approximately $55,000 in quarterly SDAC claims. Since establishing its own time study universe and running its own quarterly time studies, our client’s SDAC claims have averaged approximately $70,000 per fiscal quarter, generating more SDAC funds per Medicaid-eligible special education student than all but one other school district in the state.
